1/2 OFF BREAKFAST 8-9AM EVERYDAY AND ITS DELICIOUS!!!
Sit outside and “gaze at the passersby” at this Venice Beach brunch mainstay offering a prime view of the boardwalk to go with its “fresh”, “healthy” Eclectic eats with vegan and gluten-free items; it’s especially “good for visitors” and eaters “on the granola end of the spectrum”, who also appreciate the affordable tabs.
"Journey to Italy" via this "romantic" "jewel" just off Venice beach, where "sublime" Venetian cuisine, "amazing" wines and "smart" service make for a "thoroughly delightful" time; yes, it's "pricey", but admirers insist it's also "one of LA's best."
Out of an "unassuming little yellow cottage", this Venice "gem" (with a larger outpost in Marina del Rey) delivers "luscious" Italian fare to a "trendy" clientele; though "crowded" tables are a drawback, the candlelit setting is otherwise "romantic" and the "charming" staff "greets you like friends", so it's a "special" (and "expensive") "treat."
"After all these years", this perpetually "packed" Venice canteen is still hot, attracting lots of "pretty people" with "wonderfully fresh" sushi and "consistently delicious" Asian-French fare served by a "sophisticated" staff; there's also a "cool bar scene" – just "go early if you value your eardrums", and take advantage of the "epic" happy hour.
La Vecchia Cucina offers an indulgent menu of traditional favorites and farmers-market inspired dishes also using sustainable ingredients that support local farmers, ranchers and fisheries. Combining family recipes from Sicily with fresh, seasonal ingredients, Chef Mark Mollica creates an inventive yet uncomplicated menu of inspired and approachable cuisine. Bringing playful twists on family classics, La Vecchia Cucina strikes the unique balance between old world charm and nouveau sensibilities.
"An oldie but goodie on Abbot Kinney", this "longtime favorite" from Joe Miller puts out "outstanding", "original" Cal-French cuisine crafted from "fresh, local ingredients" in "elegant", "comfortable" digs; although it's not cheap, the weekday lunch special is "a steal."
Walk into Sauce on Hampton on any day of the week and Sassan is there to give you a warm welcome, cook you a great breakfast, lunch or dinner and maybe even give you one of his delicious cookies. And if itÂ’s a Saturday or Sunday, Saul can be found sitting at an outside table, enjoying one of the most popular burgers on the menu, Gilda’s Garden, named after mom Rostamian.

Whether you’re one of our many valued regulars, dropping in on a friend’s suggestion, or just stumbled upon us! No matter how it happened, we want to make sure that you’ll make a point of seeing us again!
One of the few true Italian Trattorias in town; Centanni has come to be known for offering a vast selection of homemade classic Italian dishes, paninis, salads and specials which you’d expect from a place like Centanni.
Our owners are “hands-on” and our staff is as laid back and hospitable as can be.
"A must" on the "hipster" "farm-to-table" circuit, this "fabulous" Abbot Kinney American features "delicious, unique" pizzas and other "shareable" "ultrafresh" plates in a "loud", "sceney" setting; while service can be "spotty" and the "waits" are a "pain", most "can't wait to go back"; P.S. "try to get a seat on the patio." burrata salad was a yummy. Mussel was delicious too.
So many good menus to describe.
If you are in LA, must try.
It is hard to get a reservation for dinner(you need to book at least 2-3weeks before), so I would go for brunch at 11am. Good luck.
In 2003 the Singer Family opened the C&O Cucina.
This new location spoils its guests with the same tantalizing recipes as it’s sister location but with the additions of an enticing Grill Menu and a Full Bar. "Sometimes our customers crave a nice cold Martini or a juicy Filet - hot off the grill."
C&O Cucina is located where the famous old "Black Whale" restaurant used to be. The main dining room walls are covered with old photos of Italian American immigrants, mixed with famous Italian American personalities and old- time photos of the Singer’s Family and friends.
The Rat Pack Martini Lounge is a wonderful place to stop in to grab a drink or have a bite. There is nothing like sitting around looking at photos of Frank and Dean while the old crooner’s music plays in the background.
It is also a great place to watch the Lakers or catch Monday Night Football with friends.
Since opening nearly 30 years ago, we've drawn accolades for our huge, delectable burgers and our massive menu of creative pastas, salads, entrees and desserts. We've been voted Los Angeles' Best Burgers and are frequently noted by LA Weekly, Zagat, the Herald Examiner, and many more. Whether you're in the mood for casual dining or a more upscale setting, 26 Beach offers both: Enjoy an eclectic and fun ambiance on our heated patio or enter the dining room for a formal experience. Either way, bring an appetite, because you'll want to have room for all of the temptations at 26 Beach.
Customers are always amazed at the staggering array of choices they find here. We offer at least 25 different hamburgers, from our famous, one-of-a-kind Sushi Burger – an Angus patty with crab salad, sushi ginger, avocado, nori, tomato, and our signature wasabi mayonnaise – to a class Texas burger, a Veggie Burger, and the chef's favorite: a burger with peanut butter and jelly. Try it before you judge!
"Everything is amazing, even down to the bread and butter" at this "cool", upscale Venice Med that's "packed elbow to elbow with beautiful people" tucking into "wonderful, creative" dishes elevated by "great wines" and some of "the best mixed cocktails west of the 405"; you'll need to deal with "so-so" service, "loud" acoustics and "difficult-to-get reservations", but even so, it's worth "every bit of trouble"; P.S. "for those on a budget, the front room is lovely for brunch on weekends."
After 20 years as a professional caterer and party planner, Marla Barreira brings her fusion of American, Latin, Asian and Portuguese cuisines to her menu at Marla's Café.

The full menu is offered for both lunch and dinner with daily specials which almost always include one of Marla's special recipe home style soups. The menu includes small bites, sandwiches, wraps, salads, pizza and pastas and a variety of delicious entrees with choices of sides. Desserts include Marla's famous cookies, brownies and pecan squares. A small variety of products is offered for take home with more to come!
Primitivo Wine Bistro has been a staple of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and a friend of the community of Venice for over eleven years.
Our goal, as always, is to provide our customers with the utmost of personal service and combine that with fresh Farmer's Market ingredients and a wonderfully diverse selection of wines.
We invite you on a culinary tour of Mediterranean cuisine created with tradition and experience.
Lastly, our food should always be enjoyed at the table with conversation and libation...
The C&O Trattoria was opened in 1992 by the Singer Family. It quickly became the happiest place on earth (next to Disneyland!) to enjoy great food and wine with family and friends..
With unforgettable Italian Cuisine, gargantuan portions and affordable prices, in a unique and festive setting; C&O is a favorite place for lunch and dinner seven days a week. On weekends C&O is also known for it's famous breakfasts on the beautiful outdoor heated patio.
The 'Killer Garlic Rolls', nightly sing-a-long, Honor Wine Bars and unique festive décor; make the C&O one of the most talked about restaurants in Los Angeles.

Scopa Italian Roots is a restaurant by owners Mario Guddemi, Salvatore Aurora, Chef Antonia Lofaso and cocktail duo Pablo Moix and Steve Livigni. The team has taken a similar approach to their popular Studio City venue Black Market Liquor Bar by bringing great food, wine, cocktails and beer to an intimate and inviting environment. The menu and design are inspired by by the groups Italian American upbringing both here in Los Angeles and New York.
Best bet on the beach and way under budget. Skip the sausages and all the gnarly pizza slices on the boardwalk. El Huarique is slinging up solid Peruvian lunches, and not the Asian / Peruvian soy sauce based styles you'll find in most LA quick stops.
The rotisserie chicken is a go to. Tender with a crispy, well spiced and roasted skin. The ceviches are also done proper served up with toasted corn nuts, baked yams and the subtle distinctions that make it a true ceviche rather than the Americanized $15 appetizer, or Los Angelized Mexican plastic cup bulk ceviches. The portions are actual lunch portions and take a couple extra minutes to prepare fresh.
Their green sauce is the kicker, works every time.
This spot gets five stars for consistency, attitude and the hidden gem + affordable appeal.
Look for the door on Westminster, right before the alley on the right to enter the weird food court hall. You'll be happy you did.
Seed prepares vegan, macrobiotic cuisine without any animal products, dairy, eggs, or refined sugar. We use filtered water for cooking and locally-grown organic produce whenever possible. We are dedicated to ecological sustainability and responsible business practices.
Our wholesome, vegan, and minimally-processed food is prepared according to macrobiotic principles. We never use microwaves, preferring stainless steel and cast iron cookware over gas heat.
Our city permit coins us as a "take-out" establishment, but we do have a small amount of seating available. Because of this permit we must serve all our food in take-out containers. We try to use mostly biodegradable and recyclable products because we care about the environment. We hope we can change our city permit so we can use less take-out containers. Feel free to bring your own containers with you to seed.

Hal's Bar & Grill is located in the heart of the Venice, California thriving beach community on Abbot Kinney Blvd., which was named the "coolest street in America" by GQ Magazine. Since first opening it's doors in 1987, Hal's, in its more than 25 years of existence, has become a Venice institution. The spacious, airy neighborhood restaurant and bar serves distinctive, award winning American cuisine prepared to perfection by executive chef Manuel Mares. It also doesn't hurt that the food is complimented by an expansive, top notch wine list. Even better, Hal's offers half price on select wines on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
And, for those who like to people watch between bites, Hal's is your perfect choice, everyone from celebrity A-listers and power executives to working class Janes and Joes and beach crowd locals. The clientele is as friendly and eclectic as the city of Venice itself.
Holy mother of God, I've died and gone to a world of hedonistic deliciousness. Thank you, Oscar for giving my palate a reason to continue living...
*Chicken and waffles
& their yummy concoction of fried ice cream, plantains, brownie bites & strawberries drizzled with chocolate dessert.
The self-designed restaurant is constructed of congona and black acacia woods. Handmade jute lamps lend warmth and richness to the serene, modern and unique space where Joanna’s design sensibilities (she studied at Art Center) and innate passion for food co-exist. Open windows invite the ocean breeze into the simple and spare space giving us a calm refuge from the city outside. Axe’s seasonal menu is culturally diverse, uncomplicated yet refined and highlights beautiful local farm direct organic ingredients. Joanna can only describe it best as soul food from California that nourishes both the body and the spirit. The beer and wine list reflects Axe’s commitment to artisan products and features boutique producers that make their product with love and care.
After their success at Post & Beam, chef Govind Armstrong and restaurateur Brad Johnson have teamed up again at this eatery on Abbot Kinney with modern takes on traditional Southern cooking and cocktails; the upscale shedlike setting has lots of greenery, wicker furniture and a sense of ease not found in most hot Venice destinations.
Hostaria makes a big commitment to pizza. servers are friendly and also efficient, eager to have you eat well. the emerald salsa verde has a vinegary kick, perfect to cut the delicious porkiness of the fried pig's ear. hostaria del piccolo combines the feel of a contemporary italian restaurant in the mountains with well-done authentic dishes. the word hostaria is related to hospitality. and there is something so welcoming about this santa monica newcomer. the overall aesthetic feels sleek yet rustic with both polished and raw reclaimed wood and metal embellishments. serving "moderately" portioned dishes focusing on freshness and seasonality. the poor man's piccolo. modern pizza joint offers gluten-free pie made with naturally leavened dough comprised of kamut, soy and polenta flour. they have a gorgeously stocked bar. pizza’s crust was so light and crisp. the salad was lightly dressed, fresh and the perfect complement to the pizza.
At Barlo, we strive to provide our guests with first-rate food and beverage by sourcing our ingredients from the highest quality local and artisan producers. To the greatest extent possible, we source from local producers that we feel embody the values and principles that mirror our own: locally produced, artisan quality, organic, sustainable, humane animal treatment, and minimal processing.
Established in 2011
Barlo was officially opened in October of 2011. Formerly Hash Restaurant, Barlo was created to offer hotel guests and area residents alike, a great locally sourced food and drink menu. We hope you enjoy it!
Sunny Spot is a place that is stretching to find a flavor that doesn't exist yet. We are a restaurant just blocks from the sands of the Pacific finding ourselves on a road through the Caribbean islands.
You can't really say that we are one thing or that we are authentically one island.
But what you can find out is that we are filled with fruits and spices, music and love.
I call it a cookshop. A place where we can experiment with tropical ingredients like papaya, plantain, mango, ackee, spiny lobster, passionfruit, yellow rice, oxtail, and vinegars in the city of Los Angeles.
A place where imagination takes precedent over authenticity.
Chopped and mixed.
Not exactly the West Indies, but the West Coast Indies, all with a deep bow to the cultures from which these foods came.
Uncle Darrow's is the best Cajun / Creole eatery west of the Bayou! We offer great cuisine with the phenomenal taste of fresh and healthy eating.
Uncle Darrow's has classic Cajun cuisine, but we do a healthier version of Louisiana style cooking without beef or pork. We are focused on customer service, and we bring that traditional southern hospitality out to California.
The Uncle Darrow's family prides itself on making the best quality gourmet foods this side of the Mason Dixon Line while providing excellent customer care.
If you're hungry during lunch, try the stimulus package special - 2 piece catfish, 2 shrimp, 2 sides and cornbread or French bread for $10.99! Rookies at Uncle Darrow's will get a free sample - we take care of you around these parts.
Feeding folks is an honor. At Uncle Darrow's, we respect you as a customer and we are here to see to it that you'll have a great meal with great people.
"Chow down" on a "belly-busting meal" of "total man food" at this "legit" Venice BBQ joint and its marginally "fancier" West Hollywood spin-off, "four-napkin" purveyors of "killer", "Fred Flintstone-esque" ribs; they're known for "long waits" and "whistle-stop decor" relieved by "eye-candy" servers, and while the tabs may run "high for a hole-in-the-wall", you'll "roll yourself" out, baby.

What were you trying to create when you started the Rose Cafe back in 1979?
We had been living in the Venice area for about 8 years and felt that there was no place where local people could come together in an informal enviornment and enjoy good food. We had been inspired by coffeehouses in Paris and we were one of the first restaurants in the area to serve freshly baked croissants and real coffee.
This is a unique building. What purpose did it serve before it became a restaurant?
It used to be an old Gas Company dispatch office. It had metal shutters, broken windows and was abandoned. We had to remove 18 tons of construction material to open it all up. We took out a dropped ceiling to expose the industrial steel trusses and a wooden ceiling. We immediately realized that the space that resulted had a gallery-like atmosphere. And being in a community of artists, we began displaying their work.
Wurstküche is a uniquely designed culinary experience that has proven itself immensely successful & popular among a wide gamut of demographics. A distinctive offering of exceptional yet simple food, courteous and engaging service and an admired atmosphere has contributed to its high demand and helped build its reputation as one of the best restaurants of Los Angeles. Within the last year it has achieved international acclaim bringing thousands of guests to its flagship location in Downtown LA to experience its accessible and renowned offerings of Gourmet Sausages, Belgian Fries, and German & Belgian Beers.
Amidst a sea of fancier restaurants populating Rose Ave, this place is a gem. The food is consistently tasty, the prices will make you question why other places charge so much and the BYOB policy is as generous as it gets. The fact that there's no ambiance is also, I think, part of the whole ambiance.
