Golfing in the area

The three closest public golf curses are Penmar, Westchester and Rancho Park.

Penmar is a 9 hole course very close to the Venice beach area.  It has a dinner and pull cart rental.  No driving range.  It is maintained by the City of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation.  The greens fees are very reasonable.

but walk-ons are welcome.

Singles go on very quickly most days!

Westchester is a US Golf owned course over neat LAX.  It only has 15 holes.  It lost 3 holes to a expansion of the road to the airport.  Even so it has good challenging holes and a pleasant round of golf.  They have a full driving range, Pro shop and a dinner.  You can rent a pull cart or a electric riding cart.  The green fees are reasonable.

Rancho Park did host the LA Open for many years.  It is a very good golfing destination.  They have a full 18 hole course, a 9 hole pitch and put and driving range.    The dinner and full bar is a nice stop for lunch any day.  Advance reservations require a city card.  Walk-ons are very seldom able to get off with out a long wait.
